One dad shared a moving illustration of God’s love using his own son to explain just how deeply and unconditionally our Heavenly Father loves each of us.
Sometimes we forget how much God loves us. We try to do more, work harder, and be better, thinking that will make us worth more to Him.
But the truth is, God loved us first. He calls us His children because He wants us. We do not earn His love. We do not work for it. It is a gift, and it always has been.
In a short video, the man talks about his young son. He says, “This boy didn’t work to be my son. He didn’t deserve it. He still can’t speak, and then you saw the noises he was making. He was my son because we wanted him to be here.”
His words show the heart of a father who loves without expecting anything back. He explains it clearly, “When you’re a child of God, you’re a child of God because of God’s grace and God’s love for you. You didn’t earn it, deserve it, and you couldn’t ever pay for it.”
He also shares, “My love and care for him is not dependent on what he can do for me.” This honest moment reminds us that God’s love is steady and does not change based on what we can do.
The man also talks about fasting and how it brings us closer to God. He says, “When we fast, we don’t make him our Father. Fasting doesn’t make him your father. Fasting makes you aware of the love and the care that He has.”
Fasting helps us to slow down and clear out the noise that pulls us away from Him. He adds, “Sometimes we’re just distracted, and He helps us to slow everything down so that we become near to Him, so we can hear Him and be aware of Him.”
It is not about earning God’s love. It is about seeing clearly what was already there.
We do not have to be perfect to be loved by God. We do not have to do anything special to earn His care. He calls us His children because He chose us.
Let us take some time today to pause, listen, and remember His faithful love that never changes.
