An 8-year-old girl started crying when her dad told her he finally was cancer-free.

Chris Dickson, 43, from Morecambe, Lancashire, was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago when it manifested in the form of tumors. He went through many rounds of chemotherapy and tumor removal but the tumors grew more in number.
He said earlier in 2014, “Hopefully I will get through this treatment and come out the other side,” he added, “Having cancer has really changed my outlook on life,” he continued. “You only live once and I look at each day completely differently now.”
Now in 2019, this father-of-three had to have his entire bladder removed to get rid completely of the cancer. The operation went well and the cancer was removed.
His daughter Maisy was seperated for the first time in her life from her dad when he underwent the operation and had to be at the hospital for the two-week recovery time. “I was in agony after the operation,” Chris said, “But at least my children can wake up every day [knowing] their father is going to live.”
He added, “Maisy has seen me battling cancer for six years, it has affected her too. It was very traumatic for her. She visited me while I was in hospital and was distraught when she left. She completely broke down.” He added, “She’s only 8, so we didn’t go into too much detail but we felt like we couldn’t lie to her either,” he said, “For an 8-year-old to deal with all that, it’s incredible.”
So when Chris was released on the 9th day, he decided to surprise Maisie, his youngest child. He reached home, lay down on the couch, and waited. “I hid on the sofa in the living room and she ran upstairs,” he said. “My wife told her to check her snapchat because her dad had sent her a message from hospital and was waiting for a reply.”

Chris had actually sent her a photo of himself on their couch, which Maisy immediately realised. “She flew down the stairs and screamed when she saw me,” Chris said. “She completely broke down, I had never seen her like that before.” He said, “I broke down as well, I had never ever felt anyone show so much love towards me.”

A clip of the heartwarming moment between father and daughter reuniting is making the hearts of social media users warm. Maisy said, “My daddy is my best friend and I hated him being in hospital,” she said, “now I’ve got him back cancer-free for the rest of my life.”
We praise God for Chris Dickson’s healing and now that he is back home with his family, we hope they all have a wonderful time together.
