Jelly Roll, a popular country singer, made a surprise stop at a kids’ lemonade stand in Utah. He left them with a big tip and a special memory.

On August 25, 2024, Jelly Roll visited a lemonade stand in West Valley City, Utah. He was about to start his Beautifully Broken Tour. The 39-year-old singer, known for songs like ‘Need a Favor’, ordered drinks for his group. He asked the young girl at the stand, “How many people we got in the car? I need three lemonades and two orange juices.”

The total came to $2.50, with each cup costing just 50 cents. But Jelly Roll had other plans. He told the children, “We were so thirsty, that we want to come bless y’all today.” He handed them a stack of bills and said, “We don’t need no change—you keep that tip, okay baby? You go buy you something really nice, alright? Because you worked hard.”

The tip turned out to be almost $700. The children and their families were amazed. Wendy Gardunio, one of the children’s mothers, shared the story on Facebook.

She wrote, “So today was an interesting day, my kid and her cousins wanted to do a lemonade stand. And they had a famous singer come and buy some lemonade. Who would have thought that we would run into Jelly Roll in West Valley. And for him to be so generous with giving them almost $700.”

This kind act is just one way Jelly Roll gives back. He’s announced that money from pre-orders of his new album, ‘Beautifully Broken’, will help people struggling with mental health and addiction. The album comes out on October 11, 2024.

Jelly Roll’s path to fame wasn’t easy. His real name is Jason Bradley DeFord. As a young man, he spent time in juvenile detention in Nashville for drug dealing. Now, he’s helping build a new Youth Campus for Empowerment where that detention center used to be.

He said, “Make these kids feel loved and give them a chance in life. A lot of these kids are victims of their circumstances. This is a really great chance to change things.”

Jelly Roll’s faith is a big part of his life and work. He told Fox News Digital that his faith in God keeps him going.

At the 2024 iHeartRadio awards, Jelly Roll talked about how God guides his career. He said, “What does it mean when a guy like me gets the opportunity to be the new pop artist of the year at [the] iHeartRadio awards? It means that God will always use the least likely messenger with the biggest message, every single time.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Jelly Roll said, “God never called the equipped. God always equipped the call. I think that I am a living manifestation of that.”

Even though he’s won awards like Best New Country Artist of the Year, Jelly Roll stays humble. He wants to use his voice for good.

Jelly Roll’s personal life has also improved. He now raises his daughter Bailee, who was born when he was in jail at 14. He and his wife, Bunnie Xo, married in 2016.

As we go about our day, let’s pray for guidance to find ways to help others, just like Jelly Roll did. His story reminds us that God can use anyone to spread kindness and hope.
