‘Softly And Tenderly’ was featured on Carrie Underwood’s album of gospel hymns, titled “My Savior”, released on March 26, 2021.
‘Softly and Tenderly’ is a classic invitation hymn from the 19th century and was composed and written by Will L. Thompson in 1880. When evangelist Dwight L. Moody was in the hospital barred from seeing visitors, and Thompson had arrived, Moody insisted that Thompson be let in.
