Kim VanderSchel shared an amazing Easter video of a family singing the classic hymn ‘Can It Be’ written by Charles Wesley and music by Faye Lopez.

As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, we feel humbled and grateful for His selfless sacrifice on the cross.

Amazing love, how can it be, that You would die for one like me!
And can it be that I should gain an interest in the Savior’s blood?
He died for me, His own beloved; can it be?
He left His Father’s throne above, so free, so infinite His grace!
He died for Adam’s helpless race; can it be?

This hymn is exactly what we need right now with all the fear and uncertainty caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Amazing love, how can it be that You would die,
would die for one like me? Amazing love, can it be, can it be
My chains fell off, my heart is free; I am redeemed eternally!
Amazing love, how can it be, can it be?

What a relief to know that our chains are all fallen off and we can boldly approach the eternal throne of God. Amen.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
I’m clothed in righteousness divine; can it be?
Bold I approach the Savior’s throne and claim the crown through Christ, my own.
I am forgiven, I’m His own; can it be?

This hymn brings relief to our spirit, and quickens our body, and gives us hope in these troubled times.

Amazing love, how can it be that You would die, would die for one like me?
Amazing love, can it be, can it be?
My chains fell off, my heart is free; I am redeemed eternally!
Amazing love, how can it be, can it be?
I am forgiven, I am free! Can it be?

As this dear family performs an uplifting cover of this ageless hymn we are thankful to God for His son Jesus Christ through whom we have the victory over this deadly pandemic and every other challenge we are facing.

As we anticipate the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, we can’t help but feel humbled and grateful for His selfless sacrifice on the cross. “Amazing love, how can it be, that You would die for one like me!”
