A family in Houston received an unexpected blessing when a local business owner gifted them a new semi-truck after the one they had purchased with their entire savings was stolen.
Sometimes we question God when troubles hit us hard: “Why did this happen to me?” But behind every trial, God often has a bigger plan to show His goodness in ways that strengthen our faith and shape us more like Christ.
In this story, God used a modern-day Good Samaritan to bring help to a heartbroken family, turning their despair into joy.
Carey Jordan had invested his family’s entire savings to buy a $45,000 semi-truck, planning to start a new job to support his wife Danielle and their three children.
With a trucking job already waiting, he parked his new truck at Houston’s TA Express near South Freeway and Almeda Genoa Road. His heart sank when he returned four days later to find an empty parking spot where his truck should have been.
Security cameras caught the theft on video. A thief broke into Jordan’s truck and drove away in just three minutes. This loss hit the family hard, especially with Thanksgiving approaching. They had no income and no way to recover their savings.
“When I saw that video, that was my investment, that was my means of providing for my family that was gone,” Jordan said, his voice breaking with emotion. He shared a heartfelt message to the thief: “It’s a truck to you. It’s a game to you. But this is what I need to provide for my family.”
KHOU 11 news covered the family’s story, which caught Peter Montes’ attention. As owner of PM Fleets in Houston, Montes felt God calling him to help. He contacted Jordan through FaceTime with unexpected news – he wanted to give Jordan a free semi-truck from his dealership.
Jordan visited PM Fleets that Saturday, still in disbelief at God’s provision. “When you showed me that truck on FaceTime, my heart dropped,” Jordan shared. “I’m so appreciative. We’ve been praying and praying, and the fact you’re able to give us this, I don’t even know how to accept it.”
Montes stood firm in his faith when he declared, “Evil will not win.” His gift showed how God uses willing hearts to answer prayers and turn situations around for His glory. The Houston Police Department continues to search for the stolen truck.
This story reminds us that God sees our struggles and hears our prayers. Jordan asked for a “supernatural” blessing, and God answered through Montes’ generous heart.
When we face our own struggles, stories like this remind us to keep our faith strong.
Let’s pray for the Jordan family as they start fresh with their new truck, and ask God to guide us in helping others when He puts opportunities in our path.
