Jahkil Jackson, 9-year-old boy was taken to feed the homeless by his aunt. But when he saw how the homeless lived, his little heart became broken. He noticed “they didn’t have items to start or end their day”. So he started the non-profit iAMNaeem with his mom.
It was the beginning of “Blessing Bags” which he gives to the homeless community. The bags are filled with daily need items including toothbrushes, soap, socks, deodorant. The little boy meets the homeless face-to-face and distributes the bags from the tray of his godfather’s pickup truck.
Jackson has already distributed 2,000 Blessing Bags since he started his non-profit. He’s set a goal of 5,000 bags to be distributed this year. Jackson says “In a perfect world, I would buy every homeless person a house,” Jackson says. “But since I can’t do that, I will try to help as much as I can.”
