It is important for us to be faithful in little things so that God can entrust us with bigger responsibilities in life. When we are faced with the trials and tribulations of this world we must stand on the word of God and be faithful.
What are the little things God has entrusted you with? It could be your talents, relationships, and gifts. We have been asked by God to be faithful in the little things that we can use for His glory and be a blessing to Him and others.
Give Priority To The Kingdom Of God
When our priorities are placed according to the will of God, it will help us to be faithful in whatever things are given to us. When we are faithful in the little things, we will bear fruit, and more will be added to us.
Luke 19:11-17
11 The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away. 12 He said, “A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return. 13 Before he left, he called together ten of his servants and divided among them ten pounds of silver, saying, ‘Invest this for me while I am gone.’ 14 But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want him to be our king.’15 “After he was crowned king, he returned and called in the servants to whom he had given the money. He wanted to find out what their profits were. 16 The first servant reported, ‘Master, I invested your money and made ten times the original amount!’17 “‘Well done!’ the king exclaimed. ‘You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.’
The above passage is about being faithful in what God “has” given you. We have to trust God with our future and use our lives to glorify Him. In every area of our lives, we are called to be faithful. In our friendships, we must be faithful to people who may not appreciate what we were planting and sowing into their lives, even if it was in their best interest.
Jesus was speaking about faithfulness in the little things He has given us in our everyday lives. Our lives should be about bringing people out of the darkness and into the light of God. We should ask ourselves if we have been profitable to God in the little things.
Luke 16:10-12 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. 11 And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? 12 And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?
Let us choose to be faithful in all things that God has told us to do and do it in love because love for God and his creation should be the number one reason behind what we do in life. When we are faithful to God in the little things with His help, we will be able to be faithful in the bigger things also.
