Two babies miraculously survived after being lifted up in the air by a tornado in Kentucky recently. Their grandma was so thankful after seeing them safe when the bathtub she placed them in was found.
Clara Lutz visits her grandkids in Kentucky every week. 15-month-old Kaden, 3-month-old Dallas and their grandmother experienced one of the most dreadful moments in anyone’s life when the tornado came to their place.
When the tornado was still miles away, Clara immediately placed her grandkids in a bathtub with pillows, blankets, and a Bible. But, she was not ready for the nightmare she would be in when it slammed into their house.
“I felt the rumbling, I felt the shaking of the house,” Clara told WKRC-TV. “Next thing I knew, the tub had lifted, and it was out of my hands. I couldn’t hold on.” This loving grandma tried her best to hold on to the tub but to no avail. It was ripped away from the floor and was swept away up in the air.
After the tornado passed, Clara immediately looked for her grandkids. “I was looking everywhere to see where the tub may be. I had no clue at all where the babies were,” she said. It was like finding a needle in a haystack.
She recalled pleading, “All I could say was, ‘Lord, please bring my babies back to me safely. Please, I beg thee.'”
Clara knew that only God could save her babies at that time. She held on to her faith and believed for the impossible to happen.
The tornado flattened their house and left them with nothing. A water tank hit her in the back of her head also. But this anxious woman did not mind the pain and immediately searched for someone to help her find her grandkids.
Thankfully, the police officers found the bathtub upside down in her yard. And the babies? They were no longer in the tub. The officers found them underneath it.
Kaden was safe and healthy, but little Dallas sustained head injuries. He had a big bump on his head and his brain bled. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for immediate treatment. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped even before they reached the hospital. The baby boys were reportedly doing okay now.
It was God’s hands that protected these helpless kids from further harm. Clara placed a Bible inside the tub and she prayed hard. She knew that it’s only God who could deliver them from that ordeal.
This story proves that in the most challenging times, we can hold on to Him and He will never fail us.
“Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14
