A surprise homecoming by an Army Sgt Dad has left an unforgettable memory for four Vernon children.
The children were at school having lunch during the break when suddenly their dad turned up at the Vernon Middle School and blew them away.
The Army sergeant had been deployed for five months and understandably the kids were missing him badly.
“I had a feeling they were going to start jumping up and screaming so that’s why I shot right there into the seat that was open,” the dad said.
His son was so surprised, that he thought it was a prank.
There is a lot of hard work that went into this surprise, “It was a multi-group effort to be able to do it. It was a lot of fun,” the dad said.
“They all pulled it off and they’re happy and I couldn’t be any more grateful that he’s home for a while,” the wife said.
The family is now spending a lot of time together now that dad’s home, and they are planning a family gathering, a little fishing, and a whole lot of relaxation for themselves.
