Ten years have passed since Noah Ritter, known as the “Apparently Kid” charmed the world with his cute interview at the Wayne County Fair in Pennsylvania. Now, at 15, Noah returned to recreate that special moment and share the beautiful bond he has with his grandfather, Jack.
Apparently Kid Today
On August 4, 2024, Noah went back to the Wayne County Fair in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. He stood in the exact spot where he first became famous ten years ago. This time, he wasn’t just there for fun. He wanted to relive that special moment that changed his life.
Noah spoke to Jeremy Lewan from WNEP Newswatch 16, just like he did when he was five. He even said some of his famous lines again, like “And apparently, I’ve never been on live television before” and “Grandpa gives me the remote every time we watch the Powerball.” Noah tried to sound like his younger self, which must have been quite funny to see!
When Jeremy asked Noah how it felt to say those words again after so long, Noah replied, “It feels pretty good. I feel nostalgic about it. It makes me reminisce about being here in this exact spot 10 years ago.” It’s touching to see how much that moment still means to Noah, even as a teenager.
Let’s go back to August 2014 when it all started. Five-year-old Noah was at the fair with his grandfather when a news reporter asked him about the rides.
Noah’s adorable use of the word “apparently” and his confident way of talking made everyone fall in love with him. The video spread quickly on the internet, and people started calling Noah the “Apparently Kid.”

After that, Noah’s life got very exciting. He was invited to be on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” many times. Can you imagine how thrilling that must have been for a little boy?
Noah got to meet famous people like Jennifer Garner, Sofia Vergara, Jim Carrey, and Bryce Dallas Howard. He even met former President Bill Clinton! That’s quite an adventure for someone so young.
Through all of this excitement, Noah’s grandfather, whom he calls Grandpa Jack, was right there with him. Grandpa Jack flew with Noah to California for his TV appearances. It must have been comforting for Noah to have his grandfather with him during such big moments.
As the years went by, Noah and Grandpa Jack’s friendship only grew stronger. They still go to the Wayne County Fair every year. It’s become a special tradition for them. But that’s not all they do together.
If you look at Noah’s YouTube channel, you’ll see lots of videos of him and Grandpa Jack having fun. They watch new movies and talk about them, play mini-golf, visit amusement parks, and explore nature parks together. It’s clear they enjoy each other’s company very much.
Now that Noah is 15, his life is busier than ever. He’s in high school, plays football, runs track, and has many other activities. He’s even getting ready to learn how to drive! But even with all these new things in his life, Noah still makes time for Grandpa Jack.
Noah told WNEP, “Now I’m juggling YouTube, school, football, track [and] a bunch of other stuff. I’m going into my sophomore year, getting ready to drive.” But he made sure to add, “I wouldn’t trade my buddy for the world.” That shows how much Noah cares about his grandfather.
Noah and Grandpa Jack’s story is a beautiful example of the special bond grandparents and grandchildren can have. Grandparents often have so much wisdom to share, and they can offer a different kind of love and support than parents do.
In return, grandchildren can bring joy and new energy into their grandparents’ lives. It’s a relationship that can be so rewarding for both sides.
May Noah and Grandpa Jack’s story inspire us to treasure the special relationships in our own lives. Let’s make time for the people we love and create memories that will last forever.
Let’s pray for more beautiful relationships like this in our communities, bringing understanding, respect, and love across all ages.
