There is something so appealing and wonderful about Christian hymns that can immediately draw people’s attention to them.
On one of the blind auditions on The Voice Australia, Angela Fabian mesmerized the judges and audience with a powerful take on the classic hymn, ‘Amazing Grace.’
The stunned judges turning their chairs almost instantly.
This song about the saving power of Christ was written by John Newton to thank the Lord after He granted him new life.
As a sailor, John was known for his crude language and actions. But one day, John found himself caught in the middle of a terrible storm.
After spending hours at the helm of the ship, John’s thoughts began to turn to God. After surviving the weather, John started his life as a Christian and dedicated himself to serving our Father.
Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
T’was blind but now I see
The touching words of ‘Amazing Grace’ were inspired by this revelation.
T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Talented singer Angela Fabian clearly impressed the judges with her own spin on this iconic hymn, as just a few notes later, judge Boy George pressed his button and turned around.
And when she hit those high notes, the other judges just had to turn and see the powerhouse vocalist behind them!
With her family cheering her on from the sidelines, Angela delivered an awe-worthy performance and solidified her spot in the competition.
