A family received a huge blessing after going through a heartwrenching incident that upset their football-loving son.
Brody Kirk is a fun-loving 7-year-old boy and is a big fan of the Alabama football team. And so when they scored their first 66-yard touchdown pass by quarterback Mac Jones, during last weekend’s Iron Bowl between Alabama and the Auburn Tigers, the boy cried tears of joy.
A video of the moment when his son was excited over the impressive pass was shared by his dad, Cody Kirk, but somebody pretending to be an employee with the University of Alabama called them in a cruel prank.
The person gave Brody Kirk a fake invitation to come meet the entire team and coach Nick Saban, but when the family found out it was a prank, mom, Brooke Kirk, shared about it on social media in a passionate post.
In an update on Thursday, Brooke updated everyone about what happened after that which surprised everyone following that story.
It was after the athletic director for the university, Greg Byrne, who read about what happened to Brody and reached out to Cody. Brooke said that the incident “upset [Byrne] very much,” and he asked for their address so he could send Brody “a surprise.”
I would really like to thank @Greg_Byrne, Coach Saban & Mrs. Terry, they have made my son’s whole year! We really appreciate the @AlabamaFTBL care package! Brody (7) will remember this forever! I’ve had a rough few days, and this made it all worth it! #RollTide #KindnessMatters pic.twitter.com/Z01kDCvfdQ

“This ‘Bama box’ came in the mail today!” Brooke wrote on Thursday and put up photos of a prize-filled package, containing a football signed by Saban and his wife and an autographed picture of the famous coach. She said the unexpected gift was “such a blessing.”
As many of you know, someone played a mean trick on our family a few days ago pretending to be an employee with UA and…

“Brody was so excited and so incredibly thankful for this sweet gift!” she continued. “This was just another amazing example of how God works all things for the good of those who love Him.
He took this crude prank that someone played on our 7 year old and turned it into a blessing that made my sweet boy so happy. We didn’t avenge. God did. He got the last laugh and we got a ’Bama blessing.
God bless and roll tide!”
