A sweet video shows a young mom and her little girl having a conversation about their day.
The video starts with the little girl asking her mom, “How was your day?” Her face shows real interest in her mother’s answer. When mom says her day was great, the girl beams with a big smile.
As they talk, the child keeps asking questions, showing she’s truly engaged in hearing about her mom’s experiences.
Then it’s the daughter’s turn to share. She lights up as she tells her mom about singing ‘Ring around the Rosie’ at daycare. She recites the familiar rhyme: “pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all fall down!”
Many of us remember this song from our own childhoods. The girl also mentions singing a funny song about sticky bubble gum, though we don’t hear the details of that one.
The little girl goes on to say that her dad picked her up from daycare. At the end of the clip, the daughter blows her mom a kiss and says, “I love you, mama.”
This video highlights the crucial role of good communication in families. Today, rates of depression and anxiety in both children and adults are higher than ever before. A major reason for this is the lack of proper communication within families.
When we take time to talk and listen like this mother and daughter, we create a safe space for sharing feelings and experiences. This open communication can help prevent feelings of isolation and misunderstanding that often lead to mental health issues.
By fostering an environment where every family member feels heard and valued, we can build stronger, healthier families and individuals.
Just like this little girl and her mom, we should have a conversation every day with our loving God. Prayer is our way of sharing our day with God, telling Him about our joys, concerns, and everything in between. And just as the mom listens attentively to her daughter, God eagerly listens to us. We can talk to Him about anything, big or small.
Reading the Bible is like listening to God’s side of the conversation. By making this daily chat with God a habit, we can grow closer to Him and find comfort, guidance, and strength for our daily lives.
