A 5-year-old Italian girl has amazed people across the world with her perfect piano performance of Bach’s ‘Invention No. 13 in A Minor, BWV 784.’
When God gives special talents to children, it fills our hearts with wonder and joy. It’s beautiful to see how He works through the youngest among us, especially in classical music where most people take years to master their craft. This little pianist shows us that the Lord’s gifts have no age limit.
Sitting at the piano, Nicole Bresciani moved her tiny fingers across the black and white keys with perfect timing and grace. Throughout 2024, she has gathered an impressive collection of awards. She won First Prize at Prima la Musica and took home the Absolute Prize at Milan’s International Piano Talents Competition.
What makes everyone marvel is her perfect scores – she earned 100 points at both the 17th Concorso Nazionale per giovani musicisti “Città di Bardolino” and the 12th Concorso Nazionale per giovani musicisti “Val Di Sole.”
At the 11th International Piano Competition Città di San Donà di Piave, she didn’t just win in her age group for children up to 8 years old – she also won in the category meant for 9-10 year olds!
Her music has touched people beyond Italy’s borders. She won the Golden Medal at the 5th Vienna International Music Competition and came first at the Tiziano Rossetti International Music Competition in Switzerland. Her latest victory came at the Orbetello Piano Competition 2024 in Italy.
Bach wrote ‘Invention No. 13 in A Minor, BWV 784’ to teach his students, but it’s not an easy piece to play. Even grown-up pianists find it hard to get all the notes right. The piece needs careful finger movement and a deep understanding of music. Yet this young girl played every note perfectly, her small hands moving smoothly across the piano keys.
