A 5-year-old Filipino boy named Zeph Angelo Liwanag has touched thousands of hearts on social media with his drumming talent during worship at Jesus is Lord Church, Meycauayan.
Most kids run around or play outside during church services, but some find their place in worship at a young age. God places unique gifts in children, and when parents help them grow these talents, they can serve Him in beautiful ways.
Zeph started his musical path at just one year old, making beats on jars and boxes at home. His mother Hazel saw his love for rhythm and helped him grow this gift. By age four, Zeph had joined his church’s music team called Jesus’ Army of Musicians.
On Zeph’s 5th birthday, his mother shared a video of him playing drums during their church worship service. In the video, he plays in perfect time with the adult worship team during a Filipino worship song, showing skills that many older drummers would admire.
His mother Hazel shared her heart about Zeph’s gift, saying “Son, I’ll be here to partner with you for you to become more of a good steward of your talent!” Her words show how she sees her role in helping Zeph use his talent for God.
The video spread quickly on social media, drawing thousands of views and touching comments. One person wrote, “So amazed when God works through you and in you. God bless you Zeph, you’re inspiring so many servers of Christ. Keep serving our Lord, for your rewards in heaven is waiting for you.”
