3 Reasons Why We Must Trust In The Word Of God

The word of God is so important for us as believers because through His word all things were created. This is why the Bible was given to us so that we might know the mind and will of God for us.

trust in the word of god

It is written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

We can always depend on the word of God because through His word we receive His instructions and commandments for our life. John 6:63 says, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Through the word of God we receive life in our body and strength to do the things, He has ordained for our lives.

Here are some reasons why we must hold onto the word of God in our lives:

1. The word of God does not fail.

Our God is eternal and His word does not fail for He is true to His word. It is written in Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” The word of God is the only thing that will remain on earth because it is infallible.

Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” Always trust in God’s word and know that His word is perfect concerning your life. When you believe in His word, you will not fail and He will lead you in every area of your life. The words of Men will fail, heaven and the earth will also pass away but the word of God will not fail and will not return void.

Isaiah 55:10-11 “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” If we hold unto God’s word, it will always accomplish the expected result in our life, no matter how long it might take it will never fail.

2. God’s word brings us Salvation

Salvation is through the word of God, for through His word, He sent his son to us and whosoever believes in His name will be saved. The Bible says in John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The word of God, which is God Himself dwelt among us so that we might be saved from all our iniquities if we believe in Him. God loved us so much that He didn’t want any of us to perish but to be saved out of darkness into the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This is the only way by which we can be saved to receive the word of God in our life. When we hear the word of God it produces faith in us and that faith produces fruit when we submit and give our lives to the Lord.

3. The word of God heals and cleanses us from our sins

God through His word brings healing into our lives. For He is the Lord that heals us from all disease and forgives all our sins. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His word and healed them, And saved them from their destruction.” The word of God when received by us brings healing in our spirit, soul, and body. It also saves us from every kind of destruction that we might face in our lives.

Isaiah 53:5. … “By His Stripes, We Are Healed.” Jesus Christ not only came to save us from sin but He came to make us whole. Through the word of God, we understand that Christ suffered for us so that we will be healed in our bodies. He was flogged and tortured so many times for our healing. This is the reason we can receive our healing through His word as we pray any time we are sick.

Our sins are forgiven as we receive His word in our lives. His words forgive us for all our sins. He who knows no sin was made sin for our sake. Our sin was laid upon Him so that we might be free from every wicked thing.

Are you living in sin today? God through His word is able to forgive your sin and give you eternal life so that you can live the abundant life of God. Repent and ask God for forgiveness and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your lives to live the abundant life He has kept for you.
